Kyle Jamieson opened Nauticus in 2018 in Leith, with business partners Ian McPherson and Sam Chapman (from Panda & Sons and Hoot The Redeemer). It was Kyle’s dream to create a friendly “ locals favourite bar in town” but since then it has become a globally acclaimed bar, making its way high up to no.12 on the Top 50 Cocktail Bars list; and very deserved that is!
Tucked away down the cobblestone streets of Edinburgh, the bar itself feels like a step back in time with a focus on Scottish maritime history, perfectly balanced with modern sophistication - all dark wood, brass fixtures and subtle nautical touches that nod to Scotland’s seafaring past.
The menu at Nauticus gives us an insight into the rich and interesting history of Leith’s trading heritage with each chapter relating to a different period of time - whether it’s the tea and spice trade, the gin craze or the key role that Leith played in the whisky boom. The emphasis here is very much on keeping things local; with 90% of the menu centered around Scottish produce..we like to see it!
"Feragaia gives us a great base for a lot of our alcohol free and low ABV drinks. It’s a very versatile product which gives our drinks more depth and complexity enabling us to create no/low drinks that we are really happy with." Kyle Jamieson, Nauticus Co-Owner
Feragaia sits proudly behind the bar, showing a new chapter in Scotland's history with its very first alcohol free spirit! ‘The Secret Fizz’ is a delicious serve of Feragaia, homemade Lavender Mint Syrup mixed with our friends at Rapscallion’s Burnt Lemon Soda - balancing earthy herbaceous notes with bright citrus from Lemon Soda and a subtle sweetness and aromatic lift from the lavender syrup.
It makes us proud to work with such a unique and impressive bar such as Nauticus in ensuring that a premium drinking experience is had by all and together creating confidence in free spirits.
This is a fun one and we are looking forward to an exciting partnership!
